(SMVS) celebrates its 10th anniversary, together with the successful application of Siemens world-leading 25-years of GIS (gas insulated switchgear) and 35 years of VI (vacuum interrupter) technology. Established in 1997, Siemens Medium Voltage Switching Technologies (Wuxi) Ltd. (former Siemens Vacuum Interrupters (Wuxi) Ltd.) is a joint venture between Siemens AG, Germany and Wuxi Electronics and Instruments Industry Corp. Its total investment is 40 million Euro, Siemens is the major shareholder. SMVS mainly engages in developing and manufacturing medium voltage vacuum interrupters (VI), vacuum circuit breakers (VCB) and gas insulated switchgear (GIS) as well as after sales services in China.

成立于1997年11月的西門子中壓開關(guān)技術(shù)(無錫)有限公司(原西門子真空開關(guān)管(無錫)有限公司)，是由西門子輸配電集團(tuán)與無錫市電子儀表工業(yè)公司共同投資的合資企業(yè)。其投資總額為4000萬歐元，西門子是主要股東。公司在中國主要從事陶瓷真空滅弧室、真空斷路器、氣體絕緣開關(guān)柜及相關(guān)產(chǎn)品的開發(fā)、制造、市場銷售及技術(shù)售后服務(wù)。

As China's economy is developing fast, environmental protection becomes a major concern of the society. To ensure the safety of the water released to the environment, SMVS imported for instance water treatment equipment from Germany in 1998. The water quality is strictly examined everyday. From 2004 to 2006, SMVS further expanded the water treatment system for two times with the total investment of 10 million RMB. Siemens holds a total of some 30,000 patents for environmental and climate-relevant solutions and invests over 2 billion EURO a year in related research and development. With Siemens' global technology support, SMVS will further continue its development on environmental protection.
